Description
The Tirah Maidan Hash Plant originates from the Tirah Valley. This is a remote mountain region located in today’s Khyber District of Pakistan, close to the Afghan border. The area has a long history of small-scale cannabis farming and traditional dry-sift hashish production.
For centuries, local communities have cultivated cannabis in the Tirah Valley. Pashtun tribes, especially the Afridi, introduced the plant to the region around six hundred years ago. Since that time, growers have continuously selected plants for resin production. As a result, Tirah stands as one of Pakistan’s most important traditional hash-producing regions.
Notably, Tirah hashish is famous for its extremely oily and sticky resin. Traditionally produced as “garda”(dry-sifted resin), it comes from large, resin-saturated flowers and is known for its powerful, body-heavy effects.
Tirah Valley sits at over 2,000 meters above sea level. It lies within a transition zone where cannabis populations begin to express highly diverse traits. Because of this, the Tirah Maidan landrace displays exceptional genetic diversity.
For that reason, this landrace is especially attractive to pheno hunters and breeders seeking rare, authentic genetic expressions. Due to its strength and depth, its effect profile can be overwhelming for those unfamiliar with true landrace potency. Tirah Maidan plants are hardy, resilient, and easy to grow. They are light feeders and well adapted to difficult environments. This reflects generations of rain-fed (barani) mountain agriculture. A trusted Pakistani-English strain hunter known as Tokecity collected the original seeds directly at source in Tirah Maidan, Northern Tirah, and gifted them to us. Since then, the Khalifa Genetics team has carried out a careful reproduction run. The goal was to produce fresh seeds while improving sexual stability. At the same time, the team took great care to preserve as much of the original genetic diversity as possible.
Ultimately, thanks to its deep history, wide diversity, and resin-focused selection, Tirah Maidan Hash Plant stands as a true example of living cannabis heritage. That is why it is a valuable addition for collectors, breeders, and lovers of authentic landrace genetics.
